The Community Foundation supports Youth Development & Education by facilitating annual grants to effective youth-centered local nonprofits and by developing advanced leadership skills for local teens serving on our Junior Board.
This board is comprised of local 16-18 year-olds dedicated to serving their diverse communities with hands-on, front-facing service events and programs throughout the year. Junior Board member candidates are recommended by local schools and organizations, and complete a detailed application and interview process for this accelerated leadership opportunity. Junior Board members are approved by a vote from the Community Foundation’s Board of Directors and serve for one year. Junior Board positions are renewable. The Junior Board is directly supervised by our Community Service Chair.
