Randall Whitney

Randall C.M. Whitney serves as Managing Director of Thomas Capital Investments where he oversees all aspects of the company business including development, new opportunities, and all financial transactions. Randall has worked in senior leadership roles with Thomas Capital Investments since 1996 and helped establish and operate several real estate focused funds, primarily Thomas Land Investments, Thomas Koolaupoko Investments, Thomas California Investments and Thomas Arizona Investments. He also is president of Pacific Thomas Corporation which owns self-storage branded properties under trade name Safe Storage located in San Francisco Bay Area and Honolulu, Hawaii. Pacific Thomas Corporation recently assembled a 10-acre transit-oriented development (TOD) site at the Fruitvale BART station in Oakland, Ca and redeveloped site from an industrial use to a new mixed-use land use entitlement. Randall first served as the Vice President of Thomas Corporation (Honolulu, Hawaii), where he was responsible for all development, construction, and acquisition activities. He managed all real estate and finance activities for properties held in Hawaii, California, Nevada, Utah, Missouri and Arizona.

Randall earned a Bachelor’s degree in both business economics and mathematics from the University of California Santa Barbara in 1988. Randall also currently holds Trustee positions with Thomas Family Trust, Darrow Family Trust and Tarbell Family Trust. He also acts as Managing Partner for the Darrow Family Partnership. Randall remains very active in his community and holds several leadership positions in professional organizations. He currently chairs the Oakland Coliseum-Airport Area Business Association (www.aaba.org). He has been active in the communities where he resides, primarily volunteering on several non-profit boards including Hawaii Ecumenical Housing Corporation, Homeless Solutions, Inc. (Honolulu, HI) and Spanish Speaking Citizens Foundation (Oakland, Ca). Randall remains active with local real estate membership organizations NAIOP, BOMA, ULI and ICSC. He has been a guest lecturer on real estate topics at Haas Business School, UC Berkeley, and East West Center, University of Hawaii. Randall resides in Lafayette with his wife and three children.
