Anne Ornelas

Anne’s well-rounded background in professional associations and retail management has focused on connecting people. She recently returned to the association field at CASSS as the Senior Operations Manager. CASSS is a non-profit scientific organization whose strength is in bringing together professionals from industry, academia and regulatory agencies to solve scientific and technical problems in order to advance the development of biopharmaceuticals. Anne spent several years in the field of aging, both at non-profit associations as well as for- profit non-medical home care and holds a special place for seniors. Prior to that, she led her departments in roles at medical specialty societies focused on magnetic resonance imaging and psychiatry. Before finding her home in associations, Anne worked in retail management for 10 years, serving customers in music, social/party goods, and office supplies.

Throughout her career, she has created outstanding value to stakeholders with exemplary leadership, strategy development, and effective communications. Anne’s long time focus on membership growth initiatives and creating exceptional member experiences has earned her a reputation as a united partner always seeking a win-win outcome to achieve goals. Her ability to work with diverse communities inside and outside an organization provides her a depth of knowledge and understanding to work towards common ground. Her passion is educating and sharing information to ensure members understand what is available to them and how to access the services to achieve their goals.

Outside of work, Anne enjoys an on-again, off-again relationship with running. She also keeps active with other activities at the gym, as well as enjoying the spectacular outdoors of the bay area and beyond. If her camera is handy, she enjoys capturing landscapes, architecture, and occasionally people when they cooperate. You might also find her enjoying a juicy India Pale Ale (IPA) at a local brewery.
